“Max, my dog, and I came to Autumn Glen in December 2009 with much anxiety. I was anticipating heart surgery and had lived in my large house for 48 years, raising our 9 children, but I knew it was a change I had to make. Wow, was I surprised. All the residents accepted me with open arms to help me make the adjustment and the staff treated me like a queen. When I came home from the hospital, everyone was there to greet me at the door and to make me feel at home. Ever since, Max and I have made a new home. Everyone loves my dog and when I recently had to return to the hospital, Max was taken care of, fed, walked and loved. Every morning when I take him out, I am greeted by the staff and given a big hug. Do I miss my family, sure I do, but I have obtained a new one to mother and love as well. The staff always asks if there is anything I need or need repaired. It is always very clean, including all recreational areas, dining room, halls and bathrooms. There is always some activity going on to keep me occupied as well as to trips to groceries and medical services. There are religious services of all faiths, birthday celebrations and family get-togethers. I’ll never forget the attention you get from all the staff when don’t feel well and need a little love and attention to make you feel better – they are all there and on the job.”

“It’s hard to believe that mom’s one year anniversary living at Autumn Glen is here. Looking back over the past year, mom has transitioned well. We have to thank the caring staff for all they do for her. From making sure she has well balanced meals, to looking in on her at night if she’s not feeling well. Now with nurse assistance, she takes her daily medicine at breakfast. I know that sounds minor. But for mom, that means she has cut out dozens of trips to the hospital, like the year before she moved in. She loves the activities the community has to offer. Once again, we can’t than the caring staff at Autumn Glen enough for what they do to make mom happier and healthier. This has helped her children have peace of mind! “One reason we chose this community is the cleanliness and the friendliness of the staff. We wanted a place where mom would be able to move about safely and participate in as many of the numerous activities as she desired. She has her own suite with her own furnishings and all the room she needs to feel comfortable. We’ve always had all of our issues and needs met in a timely manner. It’s comforting to know that this is a place where a senior citizen can come and go as they see fit and still know that someone is watching over their care."
